Due to construction works, currently access to the parking lots and the roads across the university area is limited. Parking is possible in the Central Parking Garage or the parking area between RUB and the Hochschule Bochum. For both possibilities, the pedestrian path is shown in the map above. Please note, that it is currently not possible to drive from one of the two parking lots to the other via the roads of the university. Additionally, due to construction works at the Universitätsstraße, the access and exit points might vary, depending on the direction you are taking on the Universitätsstraße. Therefore, it is advised to check directions with an online maps provider (which has information on blocked streets) shortly before the visit. But note, that online map providers sometimes do not know about the current blocked steets on the university campus. Currently, it is not possible to leave the university the central exit (via the I-Nordstr.). Therefore, visitors using the parking lot close to the Hochschule also need to leave the campus via the streets to the Hochschule.
Generally, if a street is blocked, there should be "Umleitungs" (detour) signs with detour directions - denoted with "U <number>".
You may reach the campus of Ruhr-University Bochum easily by taking the subway U35 towards Bochum Hustadt until the stop Universität. The subway runs during rush hour every 5 min and it takes 9 min from the Bochum main station (Hauptbahnhof) to the campus. You start walking from the subway station cross the bridge ("Fußgängerbrücke") towards the UB ("Universitätsbibliothek" = main library). You pass the main library on the left and should now be on top of the Central Parking Garage. From there you can follow the path marked in the map above. The ND building is the green one (fourth from the left). You have to take the elevator or the stairs in the south of the building (floor 04). Use the floor on the right side and go right to the Northside of the Building.
